Greece’s former Prime Minister George Papandreou was invited by the distinguished University of Harvard, and one of world’s top 5, to deliver lectures to its students from September 2012 until the end of the winter semester.
More specifically, Mr Papandreou accepted the invitation sent by the Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government and will travel to the USA to attend this seminar as main speaker.
The lectures will be focused on the world debt crisis and its repercussions on Greece as well as Europe, the European Union’s “vulnerable points.” George Papandreou along with students will discuss the need arising in the EU to instigate some institutional changes.
George Papandreou will discuss with Harvard students Greece’s strategic geographic position and its contribution to the general stability of neighboring countries, including those with Arab Spring developments.
According to Real News newspaper, the American institute’s aim is to bring its students closer to eminent academics, politicians and activists from all over the globe. It invites figures about which young students might be interested, in order to encourage them to get involved in the world’s public policy and civic governance in the future.
